Obituary of Michael Cyril Kirkpatrick
It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Cyril Kirkpatrick announce his passing on November 13, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Michael was born in Saint John, NB on April 28th, 1955 to the late Hugh A. and Ann L. (Gallagher) Kirkpatrick. Michael spent his career working for Bell Aliant for 34 years, retiring in 2011. Michael treasured the time he spent with his family, those memories were so important to him. He and his wife Margaret Ann “Peggy” were foster parents for 28 years. Michael was also a proud Master Mason at the New Brunswick Lodge #22 and Luxor Shriner with Luxor Shriners Club Saint John for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music and watching sports particularly Nascar, football (Patriots), hockey (Maple Leafs) and baseball (Red Sox). He will be dearly missed by his wife Margaret Ann “Peggy” (Hull) Kirkpatrick of 43 years, his sons; Brent (Candice) Kirkpatrick, Jason Kirkpatrick and Scott Kirkpatrick, brother; David Hugh (Kathleen) Kirkpatrick, five grandchildren; Caleb, Alexis, Cooper, Brielle and Marleigh and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. The New Brunswick Lodge #22 will hold a Masonic Memorial Service on Sunday, November 17th at 5:45 PM at Castle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, on Monday, November 18th, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with a reception afterwards at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre. Donations in Michael’s memory can be made to ALS Society, Easter Seals New Brunswick, Luxor Shriners of New Brunswick or the charity of the donor’s choice.
