Obituary of June A. Goss
It is with great sadness the family of June A. Goss (Thorne) announce her passing on October 23rd, 2018 at the Saint John St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late Harold Goss. June was born on June 5th 1927 to the late Richard and Myrtle (Pike) Thorne. June spent her life caring for others, her family and church were always first in her life. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school for several years and was a member of the Sunshine Club for over 50 years. June also served meals on wheels for over 25 years. June will be dearly missed by her children; Robert (Lilly) Goss, Charles Goss and Joan Shepard (Paul), five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, brothers Phillip Thorne, Gene (Barb) Thorne, Leslie ( Lorna) Thorne, sister in law Sandra Thorne, brothers in law; Bill Gray and Charlie Adams, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Harold, brothers; Bill (Anne) Thorne, David Thorne, Dick (June) Thorne, sisters; Shirley Adams, Connie Murphy (Frank), Norma Sambles (Don), Carole Gray and Nancy Levine (Jim) and sister in-law Carole Thorne. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Saint John St. Stephen Nursing Home for their exceptional care provided to their Mom. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 2PM – 8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 26, at 10:00AM at Hillcrest Baptist Church. A Reception will follow at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Interment will then take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations in June’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
