Obituary of Carol Ann Duplessis

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, Carol Ann Duplessis peacefully passed at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by her family. Carol was born on February 17, 1954 in Saint John, NB to Harold Benjamin and Frances (Huskins) Rogers. Carol had a lengthy career working at the Bank of Nova Scotia and retired in 2009. In her time off she loved spending time at her summer place on Kingston Peninsula. Carol enjoyed gardening, singing karaoke at various establishments, having a glass of wine, talking and socializing with friends, shopping for jewelry and accessories - especially at the Hospice Shop and she was a member of the 69 Branch Legion. Carol adored traveling with her loving husband Gordon to various places for his job, spending time in Quebec and Nfld. She also loved traveling to see friends and family in Cape Breton N.S, Buctouche N.B, PEI and Boston MA. Carol was a singer/songwriter and a wonderful guitar player, sang with various bands and had her own CD “Standing Alone”. She loved spending time with her precious grandchildren, and her relatives, especially the Rogers, Nickersons, Claytons, Forsythes, Huskins, Thurbides, Duplessis' and all of their extended family. Carol was also very close to her special friends. Carol will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Gordon Duplessis, son, Ryan Duplessis and wife Paula of GrandBay-Westfield, brother; David Rogers (Rose), two grandchildren; Logan and Jackson Duplessis, brothers in-law; Brian Robichaud of Kingston Peninsula, Willard Duplessis of Cape Breton NS, Bernard (Rosanna) Duplessis of Hampton NB, Blair (Alma) Duplessis of Antigonish NS, Gary Duplessis (Christine)of Saint John NB, Sisters in law; Vonda Harrison (Rob) of Saint John and Shirley Kelly of Saint John, nephew Michael Day and his family of P.E.I. as well as several nieces and nephews. Carol is predeceased by her parents Harold Rogers, Frances (Brian) Russell, Brother David Rogers, Sister Linda Robichaud, Inlaws Agnes and Wilfred Duplessis and cherished infant daughter Leanne Duplessis. Arrangements are under the care of Castle funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22st, from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 23nd at 12:00 noon, at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception will take place at Castles Funeral Home Reception Center following the burial. Donations in Carol’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or SJRH Palliative Care Unit.
