Obituary of Margaret Rose Quinn
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Quinn, wife of the late Bert Quinn and dear companion of Carvel Crabbe. Marg passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by love.
Born on October 18, 1937, Marg was the cherished daughter of Otis and Susan (Donner) Cogswell. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Ada Lawson; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Marg had a warm and generous spirit, and she shared her life and laughter with many. She and Bert spent many joyful summers at Pine Cone Park in Sussex, where lasting memories were made. After Bert’s passing, Marg found companionship and joy in her friendship with Carvel. Together, they enjoyed countless day trips and dinners out, savoring simple pleasures and each other’s company.
Marg loved being out in her community—whether it was hopping on a bus tour to explore new places or meeting friends for coffee at her local Tim Hortons. She worked for many years with the School Board, and at Dan’s Restaurant and Deanna’s Restaurant, where she was known for her kindness and tireless work ethic.
Marg’s compassion extended to causes close to her heart. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the local Food Bank, a charity Marg deeply supported.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 AM in Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and remembered for her gentle heart, love of connection, and the warmth she brought to every room.
