Obituary of Suzanne Marie Cosgrove

It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of Suzanne Marie Cosgrove on Thursday June 12, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, on July 20, 1945, Suzanne was a daughter of the late Fred Merchant and Mary Merchant, and beloved wife of Daniel Cosgrove.

Suzanne worked at Centracare and the St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years until her retirement.

Suzanne is survived by her husband; Daniel Cosgrove, of Saint John, one son; Brian Cosgrove, of Saint John, three grandchildren; Danielle Cosgrove, Serena Cosgrove, and Jackson Cosgrove, one brother; Fred Merchant, of Saint John, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Suzanne was predeceased by her parents; Fred and Mary Merchant, her son; Mark Cosgrove, and sister; Leona.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). As per Suzanne’s wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at Castle funeral home on Saturday June 21, 2025, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. A memorial service will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Saturday June 21, 2025, at 3:00PM.
