Obituary of Bonnie Ewart - Casey
Bonnie Ewart-Casey, daughter of Harry (1959) and Violet Ewart (1995), wife to Alan Casey (2006), passed away on June 2, 2025 surrounded by family.
Bonnie is survived by her brother, Wayne Ewart and his family, her daughter, Michelle and granddaughters Casey and Keely Flanagan, sons Corey Casey (Sachie) and Wayne Casey (Sally).
Of all her accomplishments, Bonnie is most proud of her community involvement through volunteering. She treasured her relationship with the members of the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception, a welcoming community open to the spirit and responding with compassion to those in need. Bonnie became an associate for the Atlantic Region in 2002 and over the years her friendships deepened with both sisters and other associates. She lived a life of charity and compassion, with quiet and faithful conviction that God loved everyone, no matter who they were.
Bonnie was a faithful and generous member of the 50 Plus Women Who Care, a group who meets quarterly and selects two charities to support during that year. The donations have supported approximately 30 local charities such as Bobby’s Hospice, Food Banks, Lunch Connections, and Harm Reduction Programs. Bonnie has been a member since the group’s inception in 2014 and remained active and interested in its operations throughout these years.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Oasis, a drop-in center, offering a safe and secure atmosphere from the hardships of life, where Bonnie’s beautiful welcoming smile was the light that brought women in. With her listening ear and generous heart Bonnie allowed everyone to be seen and heard, each woman in her own way, knew they were welcomed and loved.
Bonnie wanted to thank her incredible care team from the Regional Hospital’s 5CN for their love, support and pampering during her stay. Bonnie would also like to thank Dr. Ataellahi for going above and beyond in his care and compassion.
