Obituary of Linda Ann Ewart
It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of Linda Ann Ewart on April 8th, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice with her family by her side. Born on November 18, 1947, in Saint John. Linda was a daughter of the late Percy Ronald Downey and Ann Copeland (nee McKenzie) Downey, and widow of Douglas Arnold Ewart (2024).
Linda was a devoted stay at home mom for most of her children’s young years. When all 3 of her children were in school, she decided she wanted to take on a part-time job, working around the school schedule. She was a cashier at the CO-OP for many years. She loved going to work and socializing with all the regulars every week.
Linda is survived by three children; Susan (Daniel) Broderick, of Quispamsis, Christine (David) Ewart, of Calgary, Alberta, Steven (Kristi), of Rusagonis, 4 grandchildren; Kyle Broderick, Olivia Broderick, Connor Green, Hillary Ewart, sisters; Sandra Jean (Daniel) Bannister, Nancy Jane Lordon both of Lorneville and Cathy Isabel Steeves of Paris Ontario, sister-in-law Nancy (Jack) Steele of Saint John and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents (Percy and Ann), Linda was predeceased by her devoted husband, Doug of 55 years and brother-in-law, Anthony Lordon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Emily Love, Dr. Chris O’Brien and all the nurses at Bobby’s Hospice for all the care and support they provided to their mom over the last month to make her as comfortable as possible.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle funeral home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15 th ,2025 at Castle funeral home from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A funeral service will take place at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Tuesday April 15 th , at 1:30pm. A reception will follow at Castle funeral home. A private family interment will take place at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Donations to the CanadianCancer Society or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
