Obituary of Reva Joan Gaunce (Causey)
It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of Reva Joan Gaunce (Causey) on Thursday April 3, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on February 11, 1929, in Saint John, N.B. Reva was a daughter of the late William and Lillian (Charlton) Causey.
In her earlier career, Reva had been employed at F.W. Woolworth’s, King Street, Grand Bay Legion and was a former member of the RCL Grand Bay Ladies Auxiliary, and a Canadian Cancer Society volunteer, all while raising her family.
Reva is survived by her children; Chris (Dave) Tibbetts, Joan (Carl) Godin, Steve (Faye) Gaunce, all of Grand Bay- Westfield, Sue (Mike) Johnson, of Quispamsis, Brenda Gaunce, of Saint John, Reva (Scott) McKinnon, of Grand Bay – Westfield, and like a daughter in law; Mary Mercer, of Grand Bay – Westfield, brother; Jim Jamieson, of Ontario, two sisters; Marie Spooner, of Ontario, and Lorraine Troop, of Saskatchewan, twenty grandchildren; Wayne (Gina), Angela, Laura (Brent), Buddy (Laura), Jason (Laurie Ann), Tony, Jen (Matt), Joey (Jenn), Rachelle, Mike, Melissa (Randy), Chrissy, Meagan (Mae), Michael (Carole), Daphne (Nick), Rob (Russell), Jeremy, Jaclynne (Shawn), Samantha (John), and Sarah (Adam), thirty six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Reva is also survived by former grandson in-law Jay Thompson and her friends at Inglewood Manor.
Reva was predeceased by her parents; William and Lillian Causey, son; Brad Gaunce, twelve brothers; Kenneth Causey, Doug Causey, Norman Causey, Willard Causey, Raymond Causey, Murray Causey, Sterling Causey, Bill Causey, Greg Causey, Robert Cook, Jim Stewart and Earl Rankin, two sisters; Marion Meikle, and Doris Randall, also, grandson in-law Gerald Curran.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. O’Brien, Bobby’s Hospice, Ambulance New Brunswick, Dr. Mokhtari, Dr. Zed, staff on 5C South, and Extra-Mural for all their care and support.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). As per Reva’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 8, 2025, from 10:00am to 1:30pm, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Edward Powell officiating. A reception will take place following the service.
If you wish donations may be made in Reva’s memory to Bobby’s Hospice, The Canadian Cancer Society or CNIB.
