Obituary of Donna Marie Sheehan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Marie Sheehan (née Stairs) on February 7, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 3, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of George Guthrie and Marion Boyne (Hope) Stairs, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sister, Carol Buchanan. Donna grew up in Little Lepreau, New Brunswick, and lived most of her life in West Saint John.
Donna was the devoted wife of Joseph (Joey) Sheehan, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and unwavering partnership. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by family, and she found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, whom she lovingly referred to as her girls.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Joey, and their two sons, Tony Sheehan and his wife Cynthia, along with their daughters, Julia, Meredith, and Rachel, and Jeff Sheehan and his wife Melinda, along with their daughters, Annie and Molly.
Donna had a deep love for animals, and throughout her life, her home was always filled with them - birds, fish, and most especially, her cherished cats. She found comfort and joy in their companionship, always ensuring they were loved and well cared for.
Donna’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed but forever remembered. She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless memories that will be treasured always.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A private family gathering to honor Donna’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Saint John SPCA or an animal shelter of choice. Online condolences can be made at www. Castlefh.ca.
