Obituary of Jean Joseph Levesque
Though we mourn the loss of Jean Joseph Levesque, on Tuesday January 28, 2025, at the Loch Lomond Villa with his family by his side, we are forever grateful for the countless memories of love and happiness he gave to his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all those who knew him.
Born In St. Quentin, N.B., on November 26, 1936, Jean was a son of the late Alphonse and Rose -Eva (Gauthier) Levesque, and beloved husband of Germaine (Vautour) Levesque.
Jean was a devoted Catholic, a man of faith and service, and proud member of the Knights of Columbus, holding the esteemed position of Fourth-Degree Knight under membership number 17984 (formerly 6770). His involvement with the Knights reflected his deep commitment to charity, community, and values of brotherhood of faith and service.
Jean was employed with J.D. Irving for over 40 years with his cherished role as Chef. He had a true passion for cooking, always infusing his dishes with his favorite ingredient - LOVE. His culinary skills extended to his home kitchen where he became well-known for his homemade bread, cookies, and meat pies. When he wasn’t creating in the kitchen, Jean found joy and peace in the serene backwoods at his camp in Summerfield, N.B., a place that truly held his heart.
Jean is survived by his wife; Germaine, Children, Nancy (Rick Wilson) Levesque, of Moncton, Lynn (John) Stephens, of Ottawa, Neil (Monique) Levesque, of Saint John, Ricky ( Debbie) Levesque, of Hampton, five grandchildren; Brittany (Sam), Marco (Emily), Brandon, Kendra, and Luc, two great grandchildren; Emilie and Riley, siblings; Marie Jeanne, Eudore (Gertrude), Cecile (Jean Claude), Aurele (Colette), Carmen (Reginald), Nicole, Claude (Bonnie), Michael, Patrick, Jacques, and Mario (Lucille), and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
