It is with great sadness the family of Atha Jean Byers announces her passing on March 5/2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on July 28/1953 she was the daughter of the late Thelma and Stephen Byers.
Atha was a very special little girl, who loved music, and twisting string. She would twirl and twist with both hands and make multiple knots. Mom would say look at her crocheting. Atha also loved rocking in her chair. She loved having company and loved it when anyone would take the time to just sit and talk to her. Although she lived in silence, Atha was always able to brighten up the room with her presence.
We all love Atha very much and will greatly miss her.
Atha is predeceased by baby sister Evangeline and brothers Norbert and Stephen.
Atha is survived by sisters; Maria and George Johansson, Judy and John Thorpe, and Kathleen and Joe McInerney, brothers; Robin, Brian and Tina, and Alfred and Maryann, sisters in law; Stella Byers and Anne-Marie Byers, several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, and special cousin Judy Jones.
Special thanks to many people; her sister Kathleen, nieces; Missy, Tracy and Miranda for providing special care in Atha’s last days. To her very special sister Maria for loving Atha like her own child (and Taco may he rest in peace).
To her special care givers Rob Clark, Janice Comeau, and Tess, and Atha’s special buddy (guard dog) Copper. You were truly her family away from family, we will be forever grateful.
We Love and Miss You Atha.
